wow. it has now been three months since we lost Dad. i keep wondering when this is going to get easier...
i read this little quote on my starbucks cup last night: life is a school for the angels. love is the teacher, so do your homework without fear. death is merely graduation. --Jeffrey Kuehl
okay, besides the obvious fact that this quote is just wierd, i was struck by the last part "death is merely graduation". how thankful i am that this is not the case! my Dad hasn't just "graduated from life", but has passed from this life into perfection and eternal peace!!! praise the Lord that we have hope of more than just escape from this world, but escape to an eternal life of peace in the presence of the Almighty!
i want to end with this picture. a few weeks ago JC and Kaylie competed in a national homeschool basketball tournament (that's a mouthful). Wendy let the kids "shoe polish" the car. this is what Tyler drew on his window:

They really do get things so much better than us, don't they? Thanks for sharing. I've been praying for you.
Love to pic of Tyler and you dad!
Did you take that?
ruth - yes, i took the picture. it's one of my favorite pictures (even before Dad died). i love it! the different textures of their skins and the depth of field turned out awesome. one of those accidentally great shots! :o)
I was thinking and praying for you yesterday realizing it had been three months... That is so sweet what Tyler did and I also love that picture.
Oh, Brooke, do you think after a while it does get easier?
I think that maybe after a while we get better at dealing with the fact that it's not easy.
I'm still learning/struggling/growing.
