For my birthday after Dad died, Wendy got me a gift card to Build A Bear. I always talked about how I wanted to go (remember I have an obsession with stuffed animals - ask Josh, he will verify). Anyway, I never remembered to take the card with me when I was at the mall until last week. It was the perfect time. We're coming up on a rough time of year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Anniversary of his death, and his birthday) so this was so theraputic. I was so thankful that Marcie was with me because she understood how special this was to me.
My dad was a cowboy at heart and up until just a few years ago, always wore boots and a hat. So, I thought it appropriate that Randy Bear be a cowboy. Isn't he so cute?!
Apparently Sophie doesn't share my stuffed animal obsession. She would rather chew on Josh's toes.

Glad you finally made your cowboy. He's cute and Sophie will grow to love him.
I just love him. He so reminds me of your dad with his smile and cowboy attire. It's just nice to have something physical to squeeze when your having a tough day...
What a great idea. He really is a cute little bear. I'm sure Sophie will come around soon, who wouldn't love a stuffed animal with a cowboy hat and boots??!?
That's a really neat way to remember your dad!
I always tried to get Dad to wear some other kind of shoes, like when he was dressing for church or something, but he never would, he always had to wear those cowboy boots! The only time he didn't wear boots when he dressed up was for your wedding and he actually asked if he could get away with it and then smiled!
Mom
Robin- JR does the same thing sometimes, usually he'll cave and wear what I ask him to. Sometimes he wont though and I just have to deal with it, must be the Burger thing to do.
Brooke- I think that was a really good idea! And Im glad that you and Sophie do have that to snuggle to
I love the stuffed animals, too. Tim just bought me a dark brown bear at the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory (check out my blog).
By the way, I always admired how good Randy looked in cowboy boots at church.
